Circular economy guidance for construction clients

Circular economy guidance for construction clients: How to practically apply circular economy principles at the project brief stage

Together with its members, UKGBC has produced a circular economy guidance for construction clients, which provides comprehensive practical guidance to support construction clients who want to ask for circular principles in their project briefs for non-domestic built assets.

The guidance addresses the commercial realities associated with making this practically happen and provides support and evidence to assist clients in setting clear strategies that ensure budget, project timescales and risks are all minimised and mitigated.

The guidance will also be helpful for those in the supply chain looking to support construction clients on their journey towards specifying and practically applying circular economy principles.

We will be working with industry over the following year to share the guidance and ensure it is implemented to enable greater practical action and start a long term systemic shift towards a circular economy.

This guide has been made possible thanks to our programme partner: The Crown Estate; programme sponsors: Cleveland Steel & Tubes Ltd, Clarion Housing Group, ISG, HS2, Telford Homes, and TFT; and members of our industry task group.
